Anna Maxwell
Position: Client Manager DFS(FP), BCA
Anna’s position involves providing administrative support to the financial planning clients and the advisers, maintaining the XPlan database, and providing a key contact person for the financial planning division.In her spare time Anna likes to catch up with friends, play with her dog, and snuggle on the couch with a good movie and a block of chocolate.
Claire Garrott
Position: Financial Planner DFS(FP), Cert (IV) FinPlanning, BSc (Hons)
Most of our existing clients will be familiar with Claire as she has worked within the Financial Planning team for over 8 years in a variety of roles. During this time Claire has gained experience across most areas of financial planning and has developed a particular interest in portfolio advice, predominantly in the equities and listed investment area. Claire often manages and advises our client base on the intricacies of listed company offers and takes pride in excellent execution of all clients’ investment advice.
Claire married Michael in 2007 and together they share a passion for travel (particularly France where they lived for two months). These adventures have also sparked an interest in wine, especially when enjoyed in the company of family and friends. They live in inner eastern Melbourne with their cat Watson.
Justine Hendry
Position: General Manager Dip FP, CFP
More than 16 years practicing as a licensed financial planner has provided Justine with the experience required to manage the Financial Planning team.
Although her career has given her exposure to most matters financial, Justine has a particular professional interest in the area of family wealth management including the intergenerational transfer of wealth. Years of working with large direct property portfolios and a general passion for property in general, has given Justine a rare understanding of property investment that is often not possessed by other financial professionals.
Professional highlights include being the youngest person to be awarded the Certified Financial Planner designation in 1999 and establishing, managing and then selling a successful boutique financial planning business.
Justine and her husband Sam have 3 young children and live in the bayside area of Melbourne. Away from work she enjoys travel, food and a commitment to personal fitness. She also maintains an active participation in her daughter’s school and sporting activities. Any time Justine has remaining is usually dedicated to an ongoing renovation project that will hopefully be completed before the end of 2011.
Nick Thomas
Position: Para Planner BCom
Nick joined the Financial Planning team in 2007 and through a combination of hard work and study has progressed to the role of financial planner.
Nick was first introduced to financial planning while completing his Commerce degree at Deakin University and formed an instant interest in this area. After changing his major Nick started working towards his new career objective of becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Nick will be eligible to commence the Certified Financial Planner program in 2012 and in the meantime is commencing further studies in Self Managed Superannuation to keep him busy.
Nick firmly believes disciplined management of cashflow is the first step to achieving financial independence. During his time with the Financial Planning team he has developed a system for this purpose which is now used across the whole team.
Nick and his partner Zuzi live in inner eastern Melbourne, in a Victorian “work in progress” shared with their dog Clifford. A passion for team sports fills most of his spare time, with his most recent achievement being a part of the premiership winning side in the Kookaburra Victorian Premier Cricket competition in 2011.
Shelley Mottin
Position: Assistant Para Planner BCom
Shelley is the most recent addition to the Financial Planning Team having joined us in early 2011.
Shelley decided on a career in financial planning after starting her commerce degree and selected majors in the relevant subjects of financial planning, accounting and finance. She now supports our team of financial planners with preparing documentation for clients and general portfolio management. In the future she plans on embarking on the Certified Financial Planner program.
Outside of work hours Shelley has an active sporting life, being part of the Ringwood Hawks basketball team in the Big V Championship League. She has previously held coaching roles in basketball and volleyball at Yarra Valley Grammar school.
